What exactly is sophrology ?
It is a mind-body method;
An approach that works on both the body and the mind.
The idea is that the body and mind are closely linked: by working on the body (breathing, relaxation, physical sensations, gentle movements, etc.), we also influence the mind (emotions, thoughts, state of mind), and vice versa.
Sophrology is a gentle method created in the 1960s by neuropsychiatrist Alfonso Caycedo.
It draws inspiration from several disciplines such as Western relaxation techniques, meditation, yoga, and specific breathing practices.
Through simple exercises combining breathing, muscle relaxation, and positive visualisation, sophrology helps to better manage emotions, reduce stress, improve sleep, and strengthen self-confidence.
Accessible to everyone - children and adults alike - it offers practical, easy-to-use tools that can be integrated into daily life to restore calm, balance, and well-being.
